Australian telecommunications provider MNF Group (ASX:MNF) has announced an agreement that will see its subsidiary, MyNetFone, sell BroadSoft unified communication-as-a-service (UCaaS) solution.
MNF has integrated Broadsoft business platform BroadCloud into its network, which is run by another MNF subsidiary, Symbio Networks.
Symbio Networks operates MNF voice network with a focus of delivering future proof communication solutions.
The full suite of voice and team collaboration services based on BroadSoft Business UC-One application will be sold by MyNetFone, which will target enterprise and government customers.
MyNetFone facilitates the migration of voice services to the cloud for enterprises, SMEs and consumers.
The UCaaS will be available to Australia and New Zealand.
“We believe that the trend towards cloud voice and collaboration services is inevitable as customers move away from legacy voice services,”MNF Group CEO, Rene Sugo, said.
“MyNetFone is already making strong inroads into the enterprise and government communications sector with our SIP [session initiation protocol] trunking voice carriage service. With the BroadCloud integration we will be able to further expand the service suite to also deliver end-to-end voice solutions,” Sugo added.
MNF Group was founded in 2004 and listed with the ASX in 2006. MNF Group, previously known as MyNetFone, owns Symbio Networks, Connexus, CallStream, PennyTel, MyNetFone, The Buzz, TNZI and iBoss.
The group operates globally with points of presence in Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Frankfurt, Sydney and Auckland.
MNF has closed the 2017 financial year with $191.8 million revenue, or 19 per cent growth compared to the previous reporting year.
At the time, the company revealed its NBN subscribers were up by 137 per cent, but the company was taking a “cautious” approach to NBN, waiting of its impact to play out in the market.
Cisco announced plans to acquire BroadSoft for US$1.9 billion, a deal that could close in the first quarter of 2018 calendar year.
“Together, Cisco and BroadSoft will deliver a robust suite of collaboration capabilities across every market segment,” Cisco senior vice president and general manager of applications, Rowan Trollope, said.
Upon closure of the deal, Cisco plans to combine BroadSoft’s open interface and standards-based cloud voice and contact centre solutions delivered via service provider partners, with its own hardware and services portfolio.
