Tech Data’s Technology Solutions business, formerly a division of Avnet, is now an authorised reseller of VMware’s education services in Australia, New Zealand and India.
The extended partnership is set to see Technology Solutions resell VMware’s portfolio of technical courses and certifications to partners and their clients.
“Tech Data Technology Solutions is constantly finding new ways to make innovative technology solutions more accessible for our partners, and education plays a critical role in this,” Tech Data vice president, marketing, education and supplier management, Asia Pacific, Michael Costigan, said.
“Through this extended partnership with VMware our partners can now not only enhance their own skills and capabilities, but they can also uncover new revenue streams by selling these courses to their end users,” he said.
VMware’s technical training courses are aimed at providing the knowledge and skills required for customers fully utilise their VMware solutions.
The vendor’s training courses are designed to accommodate varied learning styles, including private onsite, public classroom, Instructor Led Live-Online Remote training and virtual self-paced courses.
The courses enable attendees to validate their in-depth industry and technical skills around installing, configuring, implementing, designing and troubleshooting VMware-based solutions including data centre virtualisation infrastructure, and network virtualisation and security.
They also cover virtualisation and cloud management platform, and desktop, application virtualisation and mobility.
The deal comes just days after Tech Data’s Technology Solutions business was named as a distributor of Red Hat Mobile Application Platform in Australia and other five Asia-Pacific countries.
In July, the distributor revealed it had also partnered up with e-commerce, shipping and customer engagement software solutions provider, Pitney Bowes.
The new agreement saw Tech Data’s Technology Solutions business deliver new customer experience solutions to Australian and New Zealand channels via Pitney Bowes’ software solution suite.
