While fidget spinner seller, Fidget Australia, has taken first place in the latest NSW Fair Trading Complaints Register tally, tech players continue to populate many of the top spots.
Harvey Norman, Apple, Samsung Electronics, The Good Guys and Android Enjoyed all appear in the top 15 most complained about businesses in NSW during the month of June, according to NSW Fair Trading.
According to the June tally, electronics retailer, Harvey Norman, was the subject of 23 complaints received by NSW Fair Trading.
At the same time, NSW Fair Trading received 22 complaints about Apple, 21 complaints about Samsung Electronics, 15 complaints about The Good Guys and 13 complaints about Android Enjoyed.
Kogan, which announced on 27 July that it is getting into the insurance game, came in the top 20, with 12 complaints against it, while Camera Sky – which claims the same parent company as Android Enjoyed – was also the subject of 12 complaints during the month.
The presence of Harvey Norman, Apple, Samsung Electronics, The Good Guys, Android Enjoyed and a handful of other electronics and IT retailers in the NSW Fair Trading Complaints Register tally seems to be an ongoing theme.
In May, NSW Fair Trading named Harvey Norman and Apple in its consumer complaints register, with the two companies coming in second and third, respectively, for the month of April.
The month prior, Apple, The Good Guys, Telstra and Android Enjoyed dominated the top 10 most complained about businesses in the state.
At the same time, the continued presence of Digital Skies Group’s online electronics retail business, Android Enjoyed, comes as little surprise, given that Digital Skies Group was put on notice by NSW Fair Trading last year.
In September 2016, NSW Fair Trading warned consumers not to deal with the company and its three online stores, Android Enjoyed, Camera Sky, and Klukker.
The estimated total market value of consumer detriment arising from interacting with the company’s online businesses was placed at $150,000 by the industry regulator.
