Boutique distributor to take on the vendor’s Cirrus range

Boutique distributor, Impact Systems Technology, has inked an agreement with US computer manufacturer, NCS Technologies, to distribute its Cirrus range of products. The Cirrus range consists of a notebook and zero-client based device.

The new agreement covers the Asia-Pacific region, making the distributor an exclusive partner of NCS Technologies and brings the brand and its product range into the A/NZ market for the first time.

Impact Systems Technology managing director, Peter Agamalis, told ARN the vendor was out seeking an exclusive relationship in Australia and the rest of Asia-Pacific and picked out Impact Systems Technology from other potential distributors.

“It was seeking a qualified distributor and reached out to a number of partners. All of us had to go through a qualification process and we had the right ingredients in terms of what NCS Technologies was looking for in a local partner and nominated us,” he said.

According to Agamalis, the distributor is targeting channel resellers that are “high-level, high-end based” resellers for this solution range.

“Cirrus is a product line that no one else has in the market. It’s a mobile product, a laptop, and also a zero-client desktop product. There is no product that this competes with. It stands alone in terms of what it does in the entire mobile platform market.

“So, we need resellers that can sell this to a unique customer base,” he said.

Agamalis went on to describe this targeted customer base, which he said includes the defense, financial, health, and government verticals.

“It’s not for the average company. This will fit the organisations that have zero-based devices and we’re after resellers that have plays in these spaces, but we’re not prejudiced as to the size of the resellers,” he said.

“Many resellers, large or small, have their own unique relationships with their own respective customers and sometimes, they can produce quite significant opportunities, both large and small.”

Impact Systems Technology also distributes other vendors, such as Atrust, BullGuard, Sybonet, Mionix, Vivlio, and Tronik in Australia and said the new vendor sits in well within its portfolio.

“Atrust is a vendor that has a plethora of both thin-client and zero-client devices, but it doesn’t have a mobile device so it complements the range of the range that it doesn’t carry. So it only makes sense to take it on board.”

Agamalis also said that Impact Systems Technology expects a revenue boost of “at least five to 10 per cent, if not more” from the distribution of NCS Technologies.

He also said the company is looking to introduce a rebate program for resellers that hit sales targets.

“We don’t quite have the reach, being a boutique distributor so we’re looking for proactive resellers to help engage with that market that may have relationships with those respective customers to get us in the market,” he added.
