TAFE NSW deals Deloitte $9.1M Oracle deployment contract

TAFE NSW deals Deloitte $9.1M Oracle deployment contract

The systems integrator kicks off three-year Oracle cloud solutions rollout

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu has been handed a $9.14 million, multi-year contract by TAFE NSW for the provision of data centre services.

Under the terms of the three-year deal, Deloitte will provide TAFE NSW with solutions and services to manage its process of identity management through the provision of software-as-a-service solution known as the TAFE Hub.

This includes a number of Oracle cloud solutions provided for the education and training provider as part of the state’s whole-of-government Identity and Access Management System (IDMS), dubbed the NSW Identity Hub.

The terms of the contract, according to tender documents, see Deloitte supply TAFE NSW with Oracle Integration Cloud Services (ICS), Oracle Java Cloud Services (JCS) and Oracle Enterprise Identity Services Suite (EISS).

The solutions will be installed and hosted with the NSW Identity Hub platform infrastructure in the NSW Government Data Centres (GovDC) in Silverwater and Unanderra – which are operated by Metronode – and delivered ‘as-a-service’.

Oracle will be subcontracted to supply software and support services to support the software-as-a-service and associated support.

Oracle’s Integration Cloud Services (ICS) will act as an integration hub for systems within TAFE, by configuring endpoints, integrations and mappings, while the Enterprise Identity Services Suite (EISS) will be available for use by TAFE to deliver its identity solution across the organisation.

According to tender documents, the identity and integration platform will provide three operational environments: development, test and production.

As part of the deal, TAFE NSW – via GovDC – will provide two Oracle Cloud Machines with 200 CPU Cores each, 1Gbps of dedicated bandwidth in the GovDC Marketplace network, and hosted database capacity for identity and integration platforms at both of the state’s data centres.

Under the terms of the contract, the minimum active TAFE identity subscription tally for the services is 300,000 each month.

Other subcontractors in the deal include SecureLogic and NTT Communications, in addition to Metronode and Oracle.

The contract comes as Deloitte shops for new Australian talent to keep pace with its local cloud and infrastructure business, which is expanding at an unprecedented rate.

In response to local growth, the consultancy giant is advertising for cloud expertise in Sydney and Melbourne, but is also looking to expand its cloud and infrastructure footprint to other states and territories across Australia.

The company previously won a cloud deal that saw the City of Melbourne tap Deloitte’s Salesforce capabilities for a suite of services and solutions spanning industry verticals, mobile, open collaboration, data analysis and interaction.
