Global semiconductor vendor Micron has appointed Avnet as an Australian distributor of its Crucial and Ballistix brands, covering solid state drives (SSDs) and DRAM products.
Effective immediately, the agreement will see Avnet target the top end of town in the local channel, with a focus on the leading resellers and integrators across the country.
“Avnet Australia has two specific areas of business expertise,” Avnet vice president of global computing components Asia Pacific, Mohit Jain, said.
“Our components business and our IT business, which specifically focuses on the top 200 IT resellers and integrators in Australia.
“The latter division only manages tier one storage brands, therefore deploys a very knowledgeable team to promote and ensure the continued and future success of Crucial and Ballistix products in Australia.”
Based in North Sydney, Crucial is a global brand of Micron Technology, providing solid state drives (SSDs) and DRAM for more than 50,000 desktops, laptops, servers, workstations, and other systems.
Fellow global brand Ballistix is a leading provider of gaming memory (RAM), which is built into PCs to boost gaming experience and performance.
“Avnet’s unique business model allows them to cater to rapidly changing market trends, providing customers with an in-depth understanding of technology and fast order fulfilment,” Micron national sales manager, Richard Clarke, added.
“Avnet is aligned with our business strategy and an ideal partner to take Crucial and Ballistix SSD and DRAM products to the market.”
