Konica Minolta is launching a new Industrial Print business unit to help create additional value for resellers from commercial production printing activities and increase margin opportunities.
The unit will provide value-added offerings to capitalise on existing printing products. This includes new finishing equipment, processes and product capabilities including technology such as its TEC UV Coater, with its gloss coating capabilities, and the MGI JETvarnish 3DS, which can convert regular printed output into high-margin spot UV-printed sheets, or higher-margin 3D-embossed jobs with up to 100 microns of varnish, lifting the image from the page.
Konica Minolta strategic account manager, David Cascarino, said it recognised the need to approach this particular market segment differently.
“This dedicated resource will help us bring new value to the existing product suite as well as develop new technologies that align with industry needs, such as the use of inkjet in industrial print applications,” Cascarino said.
“This new business unit will help our customers leverage their existing print capabilities and augment them with additional industrial print technology to realise greater value from their output.”
Konica Minolta production print general manager, Anthony Lewis, said resellers can look forward to broadening their product offering and increasing margins for greater profits.
“This new capability will also let businesses capitalise on new markets and expand their client base,” he said.
