As part of a new partnership with Cloud-based infrastructure provider in China, Inspur Group, Brocade has incorporated Brocade’s SAN fabric technology into its I9000 Blade System.

The partnership aims to address the increasing demand for mission-critical, high-performance storage networks that are required for social, mobile, and analytic deployments in China, particularly across industry verticals such as banking and finance, energy, and telecommunications.

As part of the partnership, Inspur will integrate Brocade Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) switches, featuring Gen 5 Fibre Channel technology, with its I9000 Blade System. The embedded Fibre Channel SAN product will be sold as an Inspur offering, and will support up to 48 ports with 16 Gbps Fibre channel capabilities for high-performance datacentre networking solutions.

Inspur Group vice-president, Peng Zhen, said Inspur customers will benefit from deploying the integrated solution, as it will provide insight and visibility across storage networks with built-in monitoring, management, and diagnostic tools.

“As the leader in SAN fabric technology, Brocade is the partner of choice in helping Inspur meet the growing need for next-generation storage architecture,” Zhen said.

“Brocade Fabric Vision technology, which is a critical component of Gen 5 Fibre Channel, not only enables the seamless integration between the two companies’ offerings, but also provides our customers with deeper visibility into their networks to reduce operational costs, maximise application performance, and protect their investment in Fibre Channel SANs.”

Brocade global partner vice-president, Harry Ault, said the partnership with Inspur will empower customers to optimise their SAN performance, improve productivity, and increase datacentre efficiency at a lower cost.

“With the combination of our Gen 5 Fibre Channel solutions and Inspur’s innovative I9000 Blade System, we are confident in providing organisations in China with a strong and reliable storage networking infrastructure,” he added.

The Inspur I9000 Blade System featuring embedded Brocade Fibre Channel SAN switches is available in China.
