Adelaide-based Cloud provider and system integrator, Vintek, is expanding into Canberra and has appointed Glen Lance as its new business development manager for enterprise and government.
Vintek, which was established in 1998, has more than 30 staff and maintains a national customer base. Its addition to the Commonwealth Government Cloud services panel earlier this year, led towards the establishment of a Canberra presence.
Lance has clocked up more than 40 years in IT, having previously worked for IBM and Lenovo.
Vintek director, Paul Vinton, said this was part of its five-year rapid expansion plan along with establishing a Singapore base in the next couple of months.
“Glen is an excellent addition to our team, having worked on significant government and enterprise projects,” Vinton said.
“The Canberra office is going to enable us to expand into the Federal Government space and there are a number of departments that are already keen to engage with us.”
Vinton said new business opportunities have opened the doors to expand into Singapore.
“We want to establish the Singapore office to take advantage of all the opportunities that are presenting themselves through Asia,” he said.
“It’s an indication of the way we engage with our customers, our personalised service and offering solutions that work. These are the sorts of things that have given us massive traction in the region.”
Vintek has also set its sights on expanding its presence nationally with an eye on acquisition opportunities.
Vinton said it has already pre-booked that this year, it will be up 80 per cent on its annual turnover from last year.
“Our long term strategy is to build a national footprint and that will be through the acquisition of other like-minded companies in areas such as Cloud, consulting, development, sharepoint and security services. These are the areas we’re heavily involved in at the moment and we’re looking to build them on a national scale,” he said.
“By the end of our plan, we hope to grow to more than 100 staff and have a national footprint in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and possibly Perth.”
