Rackspace is launching its Managed Security and Compliance Assistance offering to assist customers developing holistic security systems across multi-Cloud portfolios.
The managed Cloud computing company allows customers to leverage its security experts for strategic planning when dealing with Cloud solutions across multiple platforms, providing day-to-day security monitoring and threat analysis, the company said.
“Cyberattacks are the new normal for companies and represent one of the realities of doing business today as technology becomes the lifeblood of our organisations,” said Brian Kelly, chief security officer at Rackspace.
Perry Robinson, vice president and general manager of managed security at Rackspace believes its a daily threat, and in the Cloud era, come from anywhere.
“These threats often occur without warning, can be directed at any part of the business, and come from anywhere in the world. Damage from malicious parties can range from lost revenue and recovery costs to potential liability costs and compliance-related fines," he said.
Looking to compete with rivals such as Palo Alto, Fortinet and Checkpoint, Rackspace Managed Security is designed to tackle advanced persistent threats (APTs) and Rackspace will also be providing a Customer Security Operations Centre (CSOC) at Rackspace headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. It goes live in October.
Rackspace Compliance Assistance is self explanatory, but will assist customers in meeting their compliance and reporting goals.
The new security services will be available through Rackspace US at launch to A/NZ customers.
