Telstra signs agreement with Metronode to sell its datacentre solutions

Australian datacentre company, Metronode, has signed an agreement with Telstra, enabling Telstra’s business customers to access services at its 10 Australian data facilities across seven cities.

Under the agreement, Telstra customers will be able to order Metronode co-location services and place it on their Telstra bill.

Metronode CEO, David Yuile, said the agreement with Telstra highlights its carrier neutral market position. He added that it provides Metronode significant national reach across all segments of the market as well as the opportunity to host Telstra’s private Cloud solutions.

“Customers are not constrained by traditional datacentre engineering and don’t need to re-design their Cloud infrastructure when they move their critical applications to Metronode’s next generation datacentres,” Yuile said.

“This agreement gives Telstra customers more choice to effectively deploy hybrid cloud solutions, using Telstra private cloud and colocation on Telstra’s network.”

Telstra global products and solutions director of Cloud services, Michael Riad, claimed the company’s customers want choice and flexibility, so the agreement with Metronode means they now have more options for collocation services through Telstra.

“Telstra’s customers have access to a complete range of connectivity solutions at competitive prices into nominated datacentres across Australia, including Metronode’s 10 Australian datacentres,” Riad mentioned.

Metronode is also expected to add another datacentre in Canberra in September 2015.
