Dicker Data's Yasser Elgammal
Dicker Data has appointed a new general manager to lead the company's sales and Cloud strategy.
Yasser Elgammal has been named general manager - sales, Cloud and vendor alliances, effective immediately, after moving on from his most recent role as country manager A/NZ at SanDisk/Fusion-io.
A Dicker Data spokesperson also confirmed the resignation of Dicker Data general manager of sales, Chris Spence, after 10 months in the job.
According to a company statement, Elgammal will be proactively developing Dicker Data's Cloud strategy in close partnership with key vendors and will take operational responsibility for the national sales team.
"As Dicker Data continues to make increased investment into Cloud solutions and offerings, Elgammal will be tasked to work with implementing a unique, value based Cloud solution."
Spence's departure follows the resignation of Dicker Data commercial director, Chris Price, and exit of Express Data sales director, David Peach (at the close of integration of Express Data).
Elgammal has also held roles at VMware, APC by Schneider Electric and Presilient.
Dicker Data completed its integration of Express Data's Australian operations in September 2014.
It is now one of the largest distributors in the Australian market.
