Nexenta appoints Bluechip Infotech to distribute software-defined storage

Californian company targets resellers, SIs, MSPs to maintain channel-only model

Bluechip Infotech has signed a distribution agreement with Californian software-defined storage (SDS) vendor, Nexenta, to supply the vendor’s portfolio to resellers, systems integrators (SIs), and managed services providers (MSPs) across Australia.

The decision falls in line with Nexenta’s 100 per cent channel sales model.

Bluechip enterprise director, Phil Lancaster, claims Nexenta will become a significant player in the local market.

He said the distributor onboarded the vendor due to the size of its install base and exceptional team.

According to a statement, the vendor’s SDS solutions are “installed at thousands of companies” globally; these power Cloud deployments, host entertainment content, serve government data across multiple continents, and secure medical records.

Nexenta’s portfolio spans: NexentaStor, a unified file and block storage solution which can scales from tens of terabytes to petabyte configurations; NexentaConnect, which is designed to utilise the company’s core technologies for acceleration and optimisation of enterprise applications; NexentaEdge, a scale-out object, block, and file storage solution for OpenStack and CloudStack Clouds, Big Data, and Web 2.0 applications; NexentaFusion, the company’s analytics and orchestration software.

These products will allow Bluechip partners to provide hardware-agnostic SDS options for customers.

Nexenta Asia-Pacific (APAC) vice-president and general manager, Anthony Davis, said, “Australia is a very robust market for innovative storage solutions. We see Bluechip as a strong distributor and partner for our SDS solutions, and look forward to sharing our success with Bluechip and its partners as we broaden our reach in Australia.”

Lancaster and Davis will host a webinar on this partnership on November 11; Bluechip and Nexenta are encouraging resellers to register interest via the vendor’s web site.l

Nexenta’s Australian office is located in Brisbane CBD. Its APAC headquarters is in Beijing’s Chaoyang District.
