Veeam partners NEXTDC to drive Cloud provider program

NextDC has been apointed technology alliance partner for Australia

Datacentre software solution company, Veeam, has signed NEXTDC as a Technology Alliance Partner for Australia.

According to a company statement, the alliance is part of a strategic initiative between Veeam and NEXTDC to drive and promote the services of Veeam’s Cloud Provider Program (VCP) partner base to end customers’ resellers, MSPs and service providers.

The VCP program supports a more than 5000-strong global network of service providers who use Veeam Software to provide such services as offsite backups, standby replica VMs, and warm DR (disaster recovery) sites, as well as service offerings including Backup-as-a-Service and Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service.

The alliance will begin with a range of activities aimed at promoting the services of shared Veeam and NEXTDC partners, along with business and technical forums educating the marketplace on the benefits of such services as Backup and Disaster Recovery.

The initiative will look to benefit both end customers and the channel.

For end customers, understanding what services are available in the same datacentre ecosystem allows businesses to be agile, flexible to new technology requirements and deploy quickly by leveraging hosted services via low cost, low latency cross connects or utilise existing carrier networks betweenNEXTDC facilities.

For MSPs and traditional resellers, the ecosystem will not just look to promote the services of partners to end customers, but also promote new go to market offerings through add-on or white labelling services that partners can leverage to meet customer needs.

Veeam vice-president Asia Pacific, Don Williams, said the two companies were similar in that they wer both young, innovative and disruptive to the traditional landscape.

“We are both 100 per cent committed to the channel and promoting NEXTDC’s ecosystem for partners and customers to connect and realise the benefits of a cloud marketplace," he said.

"With Veeam Availability Suite v8 [available in early Q4 2014] and Cloud Connect functionality being released later this year, this announcement is timely to promote the services of our shared partner community.”

NEXTDC chief executive, Craig Scroggie, said the partnership would bring new value to both companies' end customer base.

“We are directly supporting Veeam's industry-leading monthly rental model cloud services program with the introduction of a quarter-rack product that makes it easier for Veeam service providers to set up and operate a Cloud Connect service for their customers, especially those wanting to trial a Cloud service.”
