Fusion-io has appointed Yasser Elgammal as its new A/NZ regional sales head.
Elgammal will be based in Sydney, but oversee the entire Australia and New Zealand region, pushing out Fusion-io's range of flash based storage products.

Elgammal has more than 18 years experience in the technology sector. He was director of sales and marketing at Presilient for three years, and has also held sales and marketing leadership positions at VMware and APC by Schneider Electric.
Elgammal will report to Fusion-io's APJ vice president, Charlie Foo.

Elgammal's role follows the recent appointment of national partner manager, Jason Finlayson who joined Fusion-io in April.
