Samsung's promotional advertisement with The Missile
Samsung has appointed Olympic hopeful, James Magnussen, to be the face of its brand as the hype for London grows.
The sponsorship will see Magnussen (known as ‘The Missile’) appear in television, print and online in a range of campaigns to spruik the Samsung products.
The partnership is already in full swing, with a press release claiming that Magnussen already finds his Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 “indispensable.”
“Currently, my favourite Samsung product is definitely the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I use it to plan my day and enjoy movies and music when I get a break, but more importantly, technology plays a vital role in my training regime. My coach uses the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as part of my training – without giving away too many trade secrets, we have the ability to film my stroke and I then get instantaneous feedback from my coach. Access to such technology and techniques could make all the difference in such a competitive race as the 100 metres Freestyle,” the release says.
Magnussen was doing pretty well for himself prior to accessing this beneficial technology. He won the 4x100m Freestyle Relay at the 2012 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and came second at the 4x100 freestyle relay at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships. He also holds the record for the fastest 100m swim without the aid of a polyurethane suit – 47.49 seconds.
Hopefully that technology does help, because Australia’s in for a tough Olympics.
