“I really like placing large orders and following them through. I also enjoy the problem solving that we get to do – especially when you can get some weird and wonderful problems with orders or codes or things going on. It is just such an achievement to follow something through, find out the issues and resolve them and be such an integral part of the process.”

While Reid wouldn’t be drawn on whether she aspires to obtain back-to-back awards, she promised to nominate others so they too could be recognised for their customer service skills. And although it won’t be easy for those looking to follow in her footsteps, Reid had some advice.

“Always do the best you can,” she said. “That is probably the biggest thing; always do things to the best of your ability to meet the needs of whoever you have to deal with. It doesn’t matter if I am dealing with an internal customer, someone from the sales team or pricing, or a vendor; treat them exactly the same way. They are important to you, they are important to the business and without them you wouldn’t be getting anywhere.

“Honesty is another big one, as well. If you just try to cover something up if something hasn’t gone right, it is just going to come back and bite you. Always be honest in your dealings in what you do and keep you integrity about you day-to-day.”
