ChannelWorx opens new training facility

Networking and security distributor, ChannelWorx, has opened a new training and demonstration facility in Melbourne offering courses across its key products.

Sales and marketing director, Paul Oxley, said the 16-seat training centre provided partners with the opportunity to attain certified status and expand their skills and knowledge. The centre is part of the company's new sales office.

"Certification is important cause it means that resellers can offer true value and customers know the partners they deal with are qualified," he said. "This gives us the opportunity to have stronger bond with resellers and it draws the reseller back to the distributor."

This is the company's second training site across the country. It launched a similar facility in Sydney last May.

The training programs would be based around its IronPort and Juniper products. ChannelWorx was also assembling sessions for its FaceTime and Bigfix suites.

Oxley said it aimed to run the bulk of its training sessions on a monthly basis and would cater for partners with various levels of certification.

"Having our own facility makes training courses flexible," he said. "We can schedule them more frequently. It also allows us to be flexible with numbers of people that we have coming to the sessions."

ChannelWorx would also conduct awareness sessions for all partners on the company's latest products and issues such as spyware and spam, he said.
