Tasmanian telco services provider Tasmanet has inked new partnerships with three mainland operators, Orkestra, Bunch Digital and Alchemy Solutions, in a move set to underpin the company’s national expansion efforts.
The new partnerships will see Tasmanet’s 1Gbps National Broadband Network (NBN) Enterprise Ethernet offering brought its into the broader product mix supplied to end customers by the three service providers.
“We are appointing resourceful partners with communications expertise in servicing organisations including financial services, education and retail, in fact all organisations that work with large files and depend on high speed uncontended internet,” said Tasmanet’s CEO Elizabeth Aris.
“Orkestra, Bunch Digital and Alchemy Solutions all fit perfectly into our expansion plans, and we welcome them as Tasmanet partners,” she said.
Orkestra, which first revealed its partnership with Tasmanet earlier this year, services Queensland areas and regional Victoria, regions where Tasmanet sees a market that it claims is often ignored by the big telcos but still has a need for specialist business connectivity.
For Alchemy Solutions, which serves corporate and enterprise customers in Melbourne and surrounding areas, the Tasmanet offering can help the company reach into new customer domains, such as the utilities and retail sectors.
“We support value-add to clients in consulting services for cloud migration and adoption, providing stickiness by providing complementary services on top of a client’s network,” said Alchemy Solutions CEO Luke Stow.
“Businesses using cloud need proper bandwidth for IP voice, video conferencing and Office 365. Apps like this require reliable and fast bandwidth, which delivers synergy for both Alchemy and Tasmanet,” he said.
Bunch Digital, meanwhile, serves major enterprises across Melbourne and Sydney. For managing director Matt Hannebery, leveraging Tasmanet’s Enterprise Ethernet service means the company can maximise returns on its end customers’ technology investment.
Tasmanet has made a name for itself with its high speed internet offering, making use of a custom-built data lake to determine NBN network availability at end customer locations.
While the new partnerships are set to see Tasmanet reach more enterprises on the mainland, its addition to the NSW Government Department of Customer Services (DCS) telecommunications procurement panel, along with fellow entrants Macquarie Telecom and Superloop, among others, will see it increase its public sector standing.
For Aris, who became CEO of the company in June, the appointment to the whole-of-government panel will also feed into the company’s national growth strategy.
“NSW Government accreditation is a stellar result for us,” Aris said. “It will accelerate our aggressive expansion across Australia, supported by highly qualified telecommunications partners.”
