Macquarie Telecom, Superloop and Tasmanet are among seven suppliers to be added to the NSW Government Department of Customer Services (DCS) telecommunications procurement panel.
Ace Internet Services, Australian Private Networks, Premier Technologies and Professional Data Kinetics are the other suppliers to have been granted approval to supply telco services via the Contract 2210 Telecommunications Purchasing Arrangements.
The new additions join the eight incumbent suppliers on the whole-of-government panel, including Optus, Telstra, MyNetFone, TPG and Vertel, among others. The procurement arrangement extends to 30 June 2023, with two one-year extension options.
The panel additions come as the DCS announces an update to its Telecommunications Purchasing Arrangements service catalogue, adding new services and options across internet, fixed data, fixed voice, mobile and network applications service towers.
“This includes better support for enterprise-grade NBN [National Broadband Network] services,” the state government’s ProcurePoint procurement portal said in a statement.
The panel’s eight incumbent suppliers are expected to be compliant to the new service catalogue by December 2019.
For Macquarie Government, a division of Macquarie Telecom, admission to the NSW Government’s panel of approved telco suppliers will see the company expand its offering beyond secure cloud and cyber security services to include Macquarie Telecom’s fixed data, internet, fixed voice, and network applications (SD-WAN) services.
This includes Macquarie Telecom’s business-class NBN service and support from industry-leading, on-shore customer service specialists.
“The NSW Government at all levels are transforming their operations so they can deliver better digital experiences to employees and NSW citizens,” said NSW Government head of business development Angela Anderson.
“The addition of Macquarie to the panel underscores that it is trusted by the NSW Government to enable digital capabilities as tech complexity increases,” she said.
