US-based active analytics platform provider, Kinetica, is expanding into the Australian and New Zealand market through a new office in Melbourne.

The move comes as Kinetica experienced triple-digit growth in Asia Pacific and Japan and will add further to its existing operations in Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.

The Kinetica Active Analytics Platform brings together historical and streaming data analytics, location intelligence, and AI and ML-powered predictive analytics. It also includes a distributed, in-memory, GPU-accelerated database that uses a combination of CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs to analyse massive, complex datasets with millisecond response times.

In May, Stuart Fisher was appointed as Kinetica’s Asia Pacific president based in Singapore.

Fisher will be responsible for building out sales, pre-sales, technical support, and Kinetica’s international partner ecosystem.

Since joining, Fisher has steadily built up the team with regional A/NZ vice president Scott Hubbard coming onboard in June; solution engineer director Ridhav Mahajan and account executive, Brett Ryan.

“This expansion in Australia and New Zealand comes at an opportune time as the region, known for digital disruption and rapid progress, angles to take full advantage of data technologies including AI and machine learning,” Fisher said.

“Our new regional offices in Australia will be critical to expanding Kinetica’s capabilities into new markets and will support the continued momentum we’ve seen throughout the region, including Singapore and Indonesia.”

Kinetica CEO, Paul Appleby, added it was already taking on the massive, transformative shift from passive analytics to active data analytics with its regional customers.

“From autonomous vehicle use cases to speeding pharmaceutical research to network optimisation and retail personalisation, and our expanded presence in-region will contribute significantly to this effort,” he said.

Deloitte partner, Stuart Scotis, noted that many businesses across the region face data challenges on a massive scale, working with customers to find solutions to combine and analyse billions of live and historical data points continuously and automatically.

“We are pleased to be working with Kinetica to implement cutting edge data solutions that address the diverse needs of our clients, including streaming and historical data analysis, location awareness, and predictive analytics using AI and machine learning,” Scotis said.
