Melbourne-based consulting and technical services provider JDS has joined the Atlassian Solution Partner program as a Silver partner.

In Australia, Atlassian maintains 10 Silver Solution partners that also includes Agile Digital, Systemology, Strategenics, Know Business, Integration QA, Sypaq Systems, Assemblient, Epicon and Area 9. It also has two Gold Solution partners in Design Industries and One Dot.

ServiceRocket and Glintech are the two Platinum Solution partners in the market.

Each tier requires an Atlassian certification and accreditation process to attain the credential.

“Our team at JDS have long admired Atlassian, the company, the people and their products,” JDS Australia managing director John Bearsley said.

“We're stoked to be an Atlassian Silver Solution partner and believe that our role is to help ensure our customers and the community can get the most out of Atlassian’s solutions.”

According to Bearsley, the company is aiming for Gold status by the end of the financial year as it continuously invests in skills, solutions and certifications required to support Atlassian and its use in the enterprise space.

So far, they provide advice and consulting for a range of Atlassian products including Jira Core, Jira Software, Confluence, Bamboo and BitBucket, with services including provision and management of licenses, planning and implementation of new installations, review and optimisation of existing installations, migration and performance tuning of organisational and software processes.

JDS has about 80 staff and besides Melbourne, it also has offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, with partnerships including AppDynamics, Micro Focus, ServiceNow and Splunk.

Recently, Atlassian new programs and tools to help support customers in their cloud transition featuring cloud migration assistant tools, publicly released its cloud platform roadmap and extended cloud trial licenses whereby Atlassian Server and Data Center customers can explore both standard and premium cloud plans, test data imports, and migrate to Atlassian cloud products during their remaining subscription period at no charge.

Under its new cloud first approach, Atlassian will also be providing a new channel incentive structure that aims to offer further education and enablement through the cloud sales model.

“Helping customers on their cloud journey wouldn’t be possible without enabling and empowering our channel partners,” Atlassian co-founder and co-CEO, Scott Farquhar, recently said in a blog post.

“From the early days of the company, Atlassian’s unique sales model has relied heavily on solution partners to play an important role in the growth and adoption of Atlassian products. That continues today, which is why we’re excited to extend our cloud-first approach to solution partners through a new incentive structure that will better educate and enable them through our cloud sales model.”

The software company introduced four new pricing and packaging plans for Atlassian cloud products, targeting a variety of customer use cases, industries, verticals, and markets.

These include Cloud Premium for Jira Software and Confluence that contains advanced features along with unlimited storage, the promise of 99.9 per cent uptime SLA and premium support.

In the coming months, it will prove free plans for Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Desk and Jira Core, adding to existing free offerings for Trello, Bitbucket and Opsgenie, which will provide a set of fundamental capabilities for team collaboration.

As well as Academic and Community Discounted cloud pricing for academic organisations (50 per cent off cloud subscriptions) and nonprofits (75 per cent off).
