Victoria-based web host and domain name register provider VentraIP Australia has acquired Netorigin, a Perth-based web hosting provider.

Although the value of the sale was not disclosed, VentraIP said the deal surpassed seven-figures and will bring 4,000 Netorigin customers with 25,000 active services.

Netorigin was established in 2010 and has staff all across Australia. The Netorigin brand will be retired and all services will be transferred to one of VentraIP's brands – VentraIP Australia, Zuver or Synergy Wholesale.

On its website, Netorigin stated that customers will be notified via email as the company begins to schedule services to be transferred.

Netorigin managing director Blake Burton said he is selling the business to focus on other business interests, including Attained Group, a Perth-based provider of managed IT and cloud services where he has been the CFO since July 2018.

"VentraIP is one of the last remaining Australian owned and operated web hosts and I’m confident that our customers are in the best possible hands," Burton said. "Netorigin has been a massive part of my life for almost nine years, having started the business from scratch when I was 18 years old, but the timing feels right."

VentraIP said it will asses the possibility of providing hosting outside of Perth.

The company expects its group revenue to surpass $20 million by the end of 2019.

"Being able to close this deal with so many international players acquiring local companies is a definite win for us, but more importantly, it’s a big win for Netorigin customers who will now become part of the VentraIP family and continue to enjoy local support, but also gain access to new products and services to help grow their online businesses," VentraIP CEO Angelo Giuffrida said in a blog post.

In May 2018, VentraIP announced the acquisition of On A Cloud, SpiderWeb Hosting, Boot Domains and Summit Internet.
