Security vendor Fortinet has promoted Dale Nachman to the role of Australia country manager following the transfer of Ben Field.

Nachman joined Fortinet just over a year ago as its national sales director and has previously held sales management roles with Dimension Data, Data#3 and Oakton.

He will responsible for all business units in Australia and comes into the top role following the vendor’s continued growth in the region, which has resulted in 30 new hires in the past six months and establishing a dedicated technical assistance centre in Sydney.

“Fortinet continues to grow across the region, and as such Dale Nachman has been promoted into a new, broader facing role where his strong sales and business management skills can be best utilised,” Fortinet A/NZ regional director, Jon McGettigan, said. “Dale has proven an invaluable asset as Fortinet continues to grow, and we are looking forward to seeing the kind of success he will achieve as country manager.”

Meanwhile, Field, who previously held roles at RenewTrack, Dimension Data and Vodafone Hutchinson, will be moving to the UK to work as an operational technology project consultant for Fortinet.

According to Fortinet, he will directly work with the global team and use his experience to manage the delivery of its OT system.

With a total headcount of 115 across Australia and New Zealand, McGettigan previously highlighted one of the key aspects for being a successful enterprise is that it needs to have a support organisation for its channel.

"But it's not just people on a phone, it's professional services and our technical account managers," McGettigan told ARN. "And that's really important to me. We can sell something once but we've got to support them for years to come. So that's becoming more and more of an investment for our business too."
