Melbourne-based technology consultancy, Cevo, are expanding their services into New South Wales after hiring James Lewis, to help build its growth in the state.

Lewis was previously the head of Kloud Solutions, which was Cevo’s parent company up until it became independent as Kloud was acquired by Telstra in 2016.

“The demand for high quality, outcome focused consultancy is high, and at Cevo we're focused on delivering solutions around the DevOps mindset and agile based principles,” Lewis said.

Former Kloud Solutions managing director Nicki Bowers along with technical director Brendan Carius, have also joined Cevo as non-executive directors.

The tech consultancy, which is an AWS partner, originated four years ago from ICE Systems.

Kloud acquired a 50 per cent stake in ICE in 2015 and subsequently moved the company to Victoria, relaunching it under the Cevo brand.

It spans DevOps, engineering, cloud and migration services; with customers such as iag, Monash University, MYOB, REA Group, Tabcorp and Environment Protection Authority of Victoria.

The raft of appointments are set to add more firepower to the strategic direction of the organisation, Cevo said.

The hires will work alongside fellow directors, and founders, Geoff Rohrsheim and Jamie Potter, and the Cevo team headed by managing partner, Hannah Browne.

“All of us at Cevo are rapt to have James join us to reinvigorate Cevo NSW, and to welcome Nicki and Brendan back to the Cevo board,” Browne said in statement. "It’s critical to have the right people in the right roles when building high performance teams."

In the meantime, Bowers and Carius along with Chris Padgett and David Lee have also been focusing on building up a new Melbourne-based AI, cognitive services and cloud platforms consultancy called Arinco.
