A PageUp investigation into a possible data breach reported in May has revealed no evidence of data being taken.
In a statement on the company's website, PageUp said that an investigation conducted by expert forensic analysts Klein & Co concluded that, while an attacker was successful in installing tools that could exfiltrate data, no specific evidence was found that data was exfiltrated.
Klein & Co collected and analysed all available digital forensic evidence related to the incident, the company said.
In June, PageUp informed customers that details such as name and contact details of users could have been breached as well as usernames and passwords.
PageUp said that it had detected unusual activity on 23 May and immediately launched a forensic investigation. The company's system was infected with malware, which was subsequently been removed.
PageUp has said in a statement on 12 June that, while the investigations were ongoing, the company believed data had been accessed.
On 18 June, PageUp revealed that information accessed also included some clear text password data from 2007.
Some of PageUp clients included Telstra, Michael Hill, Linfox Armguard Group and Australia Post. Both Australia Post and Telstra suspended the use of PageUp after learning of the incident.
