Zoom brings new channel initiatives to the table

Features an expanded partner portal with more deal registration, marketing and training resources

Video communications vendor, Zoom, has revealed a new channel charter in an effort to make resellers and referral partners more profitable.

According to Zoom, the charter is a focal point in the company’s program to expand its global footprint and includes numerous initiatives to streamline how it operates in the channel.

The charter features an expanded partner portal with more deal registration; marketing and training resources.

Specifically, it involves a new reseller price list with product bundles aiming to help drive further sales, along with an enhanced and streamlined deal registration and discounting process for all partners.

Furthermore, it also includes joint marketing programs, new reseller training with sales and certification enablement and an enhanced referral program.

"Building a more robust channel program helps us take our growth to the next level in the US and internationally,” Zoom head of channels and business development Laura Padilla said.

"We will be tackling new customer segments, use cases, and markets, hand in hand with our channel partners. And these new initiatives will help make that journey even better for these valued partners."

From a local perspective, Australian Academic Research Network (Aarnet) has been a Zoom partner for several years.

"We are proud of the many customers we have served together to provide video communications, including six of the eight largest institutions in the Australian research and education sector,” Aarnet head of product management, Alex Grande, said.

"We’re eager to see these new initiatives roll out and to know that the channel is a true priority for Zoom."

Zoom said its software-based conference room technology called Zoom Room, was key to its growth strategy and in the past year, sales have grown to more than 250 per cent. The software is used across enterprise, education and healthcare sectors.
