Brisbane-headquartered IT solutions provider, Data#3 (ASX:DTL), has appointed Kingsley McGarrigle as general manager for Western Australia.

McGarrigle replaces Glenn McAtee who led the WA business for the past six years and left the business in July 2017.

McGarrigle will report directly to Data#3 CEO and managing director, Laurence Baynham. He will be responsible for managing the ongoing strategy and day-to-day operations of the Western Australian business.

Being asked to join the executive team to help continue the impressive growth strategy is a privilege and I look forward to working with the talented local team to help deliver great outcomes for our customers in Western Australia,” McGarrigle said.

McGarrigle joins from Telstra where he works for the past eight years. He held numerous senior executive positions and was most recently head of business development and solutioning being responsible for the Telstra business, which comprised of 950 enterprise customers across the country.

“Our business in Western Australia has seen excellent performance over the past five years. We are looking forward to Kingsley complementing the great skills we already have in the team, and to continuing our growth in the Western Australian market,” Baynham said.

Data#3 achieved record financial results for the year ended 30 June with revenue up 11.7 per cent to $1.1 billion and net profit reaching $15.4 million, up 11.2 per cent.

Product revenue rose 12.4 per cent to $889.2 million and services revenue increased 9.5 per cent to $208.1 million. Cloud-based revenues were also up 71.3 per cent from $99 million to $169.5 million.

“The FY17 results reflect the company’s ongoing strategy of transitioning from primarily a product-centric approach to an increasingly service-centric approach in a rapidly changing IT environment," Baynham said at the time.

The company has just celebrated its 40 years in business this year. The business which started at a Brisbane garage listed with the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 1997 with a market capitalisation of $15 million.
