Former SMS Technology & Management (ASX:SMS) digital delivery director, Peter Jarrett, has been appointed head of operations of consultancy firm, Business Aspect, a Data#3 group subsidiary.

Jarrett brings years of experience in delivery and operational management to the business and technology advisory firm, the company said.

Prior to SMS, Jarrett was group IT director of operations at Ardent Leisure Group, the owners and operators of Dreamworld.

He also worked for IT services provider, Avanade, for 12 years. At Avanade he held several leading roles and was lastly the Asia-Pacific application development service line lead.

“I am excited to join Business Aspect. It’s great to join a team of seasoned operators who understand the value of behavioural change as much as process and technology changes in delivering programs of work. This means we can devote our energies from day one to helping clients tap into their potential,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett takes on a newly created role, according to managing partner, David Lennon.

“The head of operations role was created to oversee delivery and give clients consistent access to the best resources for their needs," Lennon said. "This will also allow me and the rest of the leadership team to focus on driving the growth and future direction of the firm."

Jarrett is not the first SMS executive to join Business Aspect. In May, Paul Garabedian joined the consultancy firm as the NSW territory partner. Garabedian was with SMS for six years and was most recently a state director.

Garabedian had previously worked for Dimension Data as an enterprise account director.

“It is a great privilege to be appointed NSW Territory Partner and lead such an impressive team. Together with the rest of our colleagues nationwide, we will continue to focus on the delivery of great client outcomes and being a consulting firm that people love to work with,” Garabedian said at the time of his appointment.

Brisbane-based Business Aspect has offices and local teams in all mainland Australian states and the ACT. The company is part of Data#3 group but operates independently.

SMS has been on the verge of being acquired with DWS and ASG Group both making bids for the company.

ASG Group has since taken a step closer to acquiring SMS, striking an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the company or $1.80 per share – valuing the proposed deal at around $124 million.
