The NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation is on the hunt for partners to join a panel of contractors to supply hardware and services under a whole-of-government IT procurement arrangement.
The multi-year panel arrangement will see local partners vie for a chunk of the estimated $90 million annual expenditure currently incurred by NSW government agencies for the procurement of hardware and services.
The expected contract period of the panel arrangement, which opened for tenders on 3 March, is five years, commencing on 1 May 2017.
The tender is to be provided in two lots, with the first lot comprising original equipment manufacturers of hardware that may be supplied by the panel of contractors to include a number of devices.
These include personal computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, notebook computers, ruggedised notebooks, subnotebooks, zero clients, tablet and mini-tablet computers, ruggedised tablets, and hybrid computers.
Also included are thin client computers, specialised computers, workstations, docking stations for computers, monitors for computers, peripheral devices and accessories, and software – as long as it accompanies the purchase of a primary device.
The second lot captures providers of services that may be supplied by a panel of contractors to include services such as asset tagging, pre-delivery configuration, pre-delivery imaging, basic installation, extended installation, sanitisation services, decommissioning services, and disposal services.
Partners have until 27 March to submit their tenders for inclusion on the panel.
The panel arrangement is part of the state’s Procure IT framework version 3.1, which is used by NSW government buyers for the acquisition of information and communications technology-related products and services.
The NSW Procure IT framework version 3.1 replaces version 3.0, and is applicable to all IT purchases made after 13 June 2013.
The call for partners to join the state's whole-of-government panel follows moves by the Federal Government earlier this year to source providers for lucrative Department of Defence IT contracts.
Defence officially opened its incoming IT services procurement panel to bids from the country’s IT providers at the end of January, releasing a Request for Tender on January 30, in an effort to establish its new Information Communication and Technology Provider Arrangement (ICTPA).
The new panel arrangement is aimed at replacing the department’s outgoing Applications Managed Services Partnership Arrangement (AMSPA) scheme, worth $340 million over its five-year life-span.
