Channel comes together as Meridian IT raises $10,000 for charity

Australian channel helped raise $10,000 to support long-term not-for-profit customer, The Junction Works.

The Australian channel came together in support of a Meridian IT hosted charity auction, which raised $10,000 to support long-term not-for-profit customer, The Junction Works.

Taking place at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, the charity event brought together Meridian IT clients and suppliers in support of The Junction Works’ Living Skills & Respite House - the construction of which is being planned to commence in late 2017.

“The Living Skills & Respite House is designed to enable people with a disability to overcome their individual challenges, and to move into more independent living arrangements,” The Junction Works CEO, Chris Campbell, said.

“It will also provide respite opportunities to relieve the constancy of care experienced by family members and carers.”

Present at the Meridian IT function were young adults with disabilities and their families who have formed long-term relationships with The Junction Works.

“The festive season is the perfect time to reflect and show our appreciation for those less fortunate than ourselves and recognising The Junction Works for all that they do in our local community,” Meridian IT country manager, Stephen White, added.

White said community engagement through occasions such as the Meridian IT function has played a key role in raising funds for the Living Skills & Respite House, which will develop confidence and skills for young adults into the future.

The event has followed numerous other initiatives by award-winning Meridian IT to support The Junction Works, including sponsorship of the 2016 Charity Golf Day, as well as the SPARK Creative Arts Festival that supported over 350 people with a disability this year.

“We would like to thank Stephen White and the Meridian IT team as they have played an important role in assisting The Junction Works’ expansion of services for children and adults with a disability in South West Sydney,” Campbell added.
