Leader Computers has celebrated its 20th anniversary this week, as one of Australia’s largest manufacturer of notebooks, computers and tablets.
Since opening shop in 1984 initially as a software developer, the South Australian-based distributor started specialising in IT distribution and PC and components manufacturing in 1996.
As a 100 percent Australian owned company, Leaders Computers has warehouses in every major city across Australia; Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, employing over 110 IT, sales and marketing professionals.
“Over the past 20 years, Leader has gone from strength to strength and continues to grow a large client base with resellers scattered throughout Australia,” Leader Computers Managing Director, Theo Kristoris, said.
“Our reputation for aggressive marketing and high quality IT products, is coupled with high quality customer service and support.”
During the past two decades, Kristoris said the distributor has cleared many hurdles, achieving some significant milestones along the way.
In January 2016, the company acquired its major competitor, Altech, with a view to make it mark in Western Australia, growing its headcount to 112.
For Kristoris, another of Leader’s main achievements involved the signing an exclusive South Australian distribution of Vodafone in the opening of its telco division 2004.
Kristoris also highlighted certain personnel within the business, citing the long-term loyalty and commitment to the company, with reference to South Australia Sales Manager, Jaimie l’Anson, who has been with the company for more than 17 years.
“Jaimie was working as a sales rep at one of our largest reseller customers of Disocovery modems just one street over,” he said.
“He developed from a raw young kid to an elite multi-skilled sales manager professional.
“His deep relationships he builds with resellers are amazing and is trusted by all sales team for advice when it comes to how to grow as a salesperson in all technical aspects of IT. Jaimie is a great inspiration to all new, junior account managers."
Spanning across the country, Kristoris also acknowledged the efforts of PC Production Manager, Vedran Jovic, also a 17 year veteran of the business.
“Vedran has been through the whole journey from when we first started building PC and was a smaller PC builder in Australia to today where we are the largest,” he added.
“It will be hard to find anyone so dedicated, passionate and committed to helping the company grow,” he added.
Looking ahead, Kristoris said the distributor will continue to work closely with resellers, bringing on board new technologies and products across Australia.
