DB Results wins $10m ACT Revenue Office digital contract

Aims to deliver streamlined services for tax payers and pensioners

Australian-owned digital business consulting and technology company, DB Results, has won a contract to implement a new revenue collection and concession payments platform for the ACT Government.

The contract for the Oracle based platform is part of a three year, $30 million transformation to deliver better, faster and smarter services for people paying taxes or receiving concessions. The reseller's part in the deal is worth $10 million.

The new platform, based on Oracle’s Public Sector Revenue Management product, will be implemented by DB Results in partnership with its sub-contractor Intrasoft International.

The Revenue Office transformation that the contract supports will help deliver the ACT Government’s Strategic Priority of Economic Growth and Diversification, the Digital Canberra Action Plan 2014-2018’s Digital Services Vision and the roll out of ACT’s government services, Access Canberra.

Commissioner for ACT Revenue, Kim Salisbury, said the ACT Revenue Office collects more than $1.2 billion in taxes and levies each year to help fund vital public services including health, education, public transport, roads, footpaths, cycle paths, recycling and rubbish collection, parks, reserves and libraries.

The Revenue Office also administers over $50 million worth of rebates and subsidies each year for pensioners, low income earners and people with disabilities for their rates, energy, water, sewerage, taxi travel and spectacles.

“After a rigorous selection process we engaged DB Results because we believe that their experience, knowledge of Oracle products and history of successful implementations is the best fit for our business,” Salisbury said.

DB Results CEO, Andrew Dean, said the company sees a bright future in Canberra for its business as it focuses on digital business solutions and explores further opportunities via the Federal Government’s Digital Services panel.

“We are very pleased with this outcome and look forward to supporting the ACT Revenue Office for many years to come. DB Results has been investing in Canberra for over four years and the Revenue Office is our third major client in the Territory.

“We currently have 40 people working in Canberra and we can see this growing to over 100 in the next two to three years, thus creating significant opportunities in the local employment market,” he added.
