Broadband solutions provider, NetComm Wireless (ASX:NTC), has inked a master purchase agreement with a large US-based telecommunications carrier.
As per the agreement, NetComm Wireless will supply the company with fixed wireless devices required to connect households and businesses to a fixed wireless rural broadband network that will be built by the carrier.
Due to a confidentiality agreement in place with this US telecommunications carrier, NetComm Wireless is unable to provide its name or any specifics in relation to the agreement at the present time, it said in a statement on the ASX.
It did mention that whilst this agreement has been signed, there are a number of additional requirements normal to this type of project that needs to be satisfied to progress the project.
NetComm Wireless managing director and CEO, David Stewart, said the agreement is a key milestone in the company’s global growth strategy for regional broadband.
“It builds on our success to date with Ericsson in delivering a similar service to Australia’s national broadband network. We see potential for this technology solution in many different countries,” Stewart mentioned.
