Data centre builder, NEXTDC, has added to its list of contract wins through landing a new $1.79 million deal with a federal government agency.

The contract stretches a three year term with optional extensions. Due to the critical and sensitive nature of the infrastructure, details of the contract haven’t been made available.

NEXTDC CEO, Craig Scroggie, said it was a significant achievement to support the federal government’s operations with its national network of data centres.

NEXTDC is also a member of the Commonwealth Data Centre Facilities Supplies Panel and recently landed a deal with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), which is migrating critical IT infrastructure from its Tuggeranong Data Centre (TDC), which is managed by the Department of Human Services, to NEXTDC’s C1 datacentre located in Bruce, ACT.

The contract will span five years and the migration is expected to be completed next month.
