IBM calls for applications for its annual SmartCamp Australia 2015 event
IBM is calling for entrepreneurs to participate in its fourth SmartCamp in Australia, to be held in Melbourne on September 15.
SmartCamp is part of IBM’s Global Entrepreneur Program, designed to develop an early stage eco-system to support emerging innovation-led companies in becoming leading brands. This year, SmartCamp will take place in more than 30 cities around the world.
Early-stage start-ups have to apply for this SmartCamp and IBM will pick four companies from this pool of entrants.
These four companies will be invited to a full day event on September 15, where participants will benefit from working with top-tier mentors from the local business, start-ups and IBM’s global innovation eco-system including venture capitalists. At the end of that day, they will pitch to a panel of industry experts.
The winner of SmartCamp Australia will receive: $US120,000 in IBM Cloud credits (which includes mentoring, technical and go-to-market support), the chance to advance to the semi-finals, and the chance to compete at the 2016 global LAUNCH Festival (the world’s largest start-up conference in San Francisco) and win the $US25,000 LAUNCH Incubator investment prize.
Start-ups including 9 Spokes, Temando and CropLogic have won previous SmartCamp editions in A/NZ.
