Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) launch new pro bono community program

Australian IT services and business consulting firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has launched the TCS Australia and New Zealand Pro Bono Community Program.

HeartKids Australia, Cystic Fibrosis New South Wales, Hunter Medical Research Institute, The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre and The Penguin Foundation, are the first beneficiaries to receive TCS services collectively valued at more than $1 million.

The program offers Australian health, education and environmental not-for-profit organisations, the opportunity to apply for complimentary access to TCS IT services.

The TCS Pro Bono Community Program in Australia drew inspiration from the business’ Pro Bono work in India that began in 2002, where it leveraged its IT competence to create an Adult Literacy Program.

Chief executive, TCS Australia and New Zealand, Deborah Hadwen, believes technology can help to address health, social, and environmental challenges.

She said, “TCS is proud to offer IT solutions and consulting services to these organisations, enabling them to create a positive impact.”

Penguin Foundation board member, Dr Peter Dann, said, “The solutions provided by TCS will greatly improve our current donor systems, allowing us to invest further resources into fundraising activities which support wildlife and environment conservation activities on Phillip Island.”

Cystic Fibrosis New South Wales, chief executive, Michele Adair, also commented, “being able to control your health information is vital. Young adults expect to be able to use their phones for this task and we believe an app will make a huge difference to the physical and mental well being of patients.”

TCS services on offering include application and website development, IT consulting and technology optimisation, digitisation and digital transformation, as well as software testing.
