Technology and services provider, NEC Australia, has launched iPasolink VR, which enables ultra-high capacity wireless transmission, to help pave the way for providing next generation 5G networks.
The new solution combines the highest modulation techniques with IEEE 1588v2 synchronisation methods and the iPasolink VR hardware is MPLS-TP and MIMO capable, and optionally equipped with 10 GbE and 10G CWDM interfaces.
NEC recently announced the development of a wireless transmission technology that enables the use of a 4096 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (4096QAM) method. This will be included in the new products.
The latest NEC radio technology supports the larger 112MHz channel size that allows full utilisation of the wide band channels recently released by ACMA to the Australian market for ultra-high capacity applications.
In response to increasing needs for sharing single mobile network infrastructures among multiple telecom operators, the iPasolink VR provides Hierarchical QoS (H-QoS) function. It paves the way for the simultaneous operation of mobile networks owned by multiple telecom operators with different service levels and clocking architectures on a single transmission network.
It also incorporates NEC's newly developed SDN-based network automation and optimisation tool called BRM and is also compatible with existing iPasolink models.
