Bigcommerce has appointed CEO of SolutionStar, Kal Ramen, to its board of directors.
Ramen is also a former executive of Amazon, Drugstore.com and Groupon.
The e-commerce platform provider said Raman will work closely with executive leadership to help the company scale its business, platform and market presence while capitalising on opportunities spurred by the massive worldwide growth in online retail.
Bigcommerce co-founder and chief executive, Eddie Machaalani, said “Kal’s experience with some of the most successful companies in e-commerce will help guide us through our next phase of growth.”

Raman has served in executive leadership roles at several large online retailers. Under his leadership, Groupon’s stock price increased 41 per cent and revenue grew to $US1.9 billion.
Bigcommerce announced a $50 million Series D round of funding in November 2014. The firm is investing in international expansion.
