The Frame Group inks Melbourne airport management contract

Three-year deal will include management the airport’s critical IT assets and data centres

ICT consulting and services company, The Frame Group, has won a three-year facilities management contract from Melbourne Airport.

Frame struck the deal following a rigorous tender process to appoint a facilities partner to manage the airport’s critical IT assets, datacentres and communication rooms.

As part of the agreement, Frame will manage all of the equipment within Melbourne Airport’s two datacentres, more than 90 communications rooms and all active network infrastructure.

According to a company statement, Melbourne Airport is expanding rapidly to meet the strong growth in passenger numbers anticipated over the next 20 years.

A key element of the contract was to improve the overall customer experience for the 31 million annual passengers.

Frame will work with Melbourne Airport to redefine business processes and establish new standards to improve efficiencies.

It will have an extensive onsite presence to provide proactive management.

Capital planning will be enhanced through effective maintenance and proactive care ensuring equipment that needs replacing can be pre-planned.

Frame general manager, Roger Barlow, said, the new award to provide support services for Melbourne Airport’s critical infrastructure was testament to the company's valuable skill set and built on the results which it have achieved over the past six years which we have supported the transformation of Melbourne Airport through the design and implementation of its core ICT infrastructure.

Melbourne Airport, manager, ICT, Paul Bunker, said, throughout the tender process, The Frame Group produced innovative and seamless solutions that will deliver a more intuitive and reliable technology environment for Melbourne Airport and for our passengers.
