Meru Networks has deployed a 802.11ac wireless solution to a Queensland school of 850 students and 250 staff.

The Glennie School, Towoomba, has implemented the solution through Wavelink, the Australian distributor for Meru Networks and Computelec, its reseller.

The wireless solution has almost 100 AP832i 802.11ac access points (APs) that cover the entire campus and support the school’s one-to-one laptop program and Google cloud environment.

The Glennie School, IT manager, Matthew Russell, said school was looking to upgrade to 802.11ac from its previous wireless solution.

"The school chose Meru Networks because of its experience in providing comprehensive wireless solutions, particularly in 802.11ac,” he said.

Wavelink managing director, Ilan Rubin said, As the local distributor for Meru Networks, Wavelink was seeing increasing interest in 802.11ac wireless solutions.

"Particularly, in the education sector, where learning needs to be uninterrupted, it is important to look at ways of leveraging technology to provide the best quality of learning.”
