Powell to lead Software AG in Asia-Pacific

Promotion to President follows company restructuring

Software AG has appointed David Powell as the new President for Asia-Pacific and Japan.

Powell was formerly Software AG's country manager in Brazil, Latin America and the UK.

He aims to achieve a long-term competitive edge by accelerating organisational growth.

“Moving forward, we will focus on growing Business Process Excellence as we see enormous potential for companies throughout the region to improve productivity, service levels and revenue, and to decrease costs, through process improvement,” Powell said.

The finalisation of the company’s acquisition of German Business Process Management (BPM) specialist IDS Scheer AG and record results in 2010 resulted in local management restructuring.

Bruce Beddoe (former Software AG Australia Sales Director) and Richard Kulkarni (formerly Managing Director of IDS Scheer Australia) will report to Powell and assume responsibility for all sales operations in Australia.

Software AG surpassed its growth target of 1 billion Euros in 2010, two years earlier than originally anticipated and has customers in 70 countries.

Recently, the company’s Sydney head office relocated to bigger grounds in McMahon’s Point to accommodate organisational development.

It anticipates the acquisition of major new projects and further growth in its results.
