The IT search provider seeks to increase its headcount this year

IT search provider, Splunk, is looking to increase its headcount in the Australian market on the back of posting positive growth results.

Splunk regional sales manager, Daniel Miller, said it was working out the best areas of the company to add more resources.

“We’re working out which of these areas require the most immediate focus,” Miller said. “We can put on headcount in sales, pre-sales, delivery and marketing. We can do a lot more if we properly resources these areas.”

In the Asia-Pacific region, Splunk has experienced year-over-year bookings growth of 76 per cent and added 220 new customers globally. This includes 40 in the Asia Pacific and brings the customer count to more than 1850 in 70 countries.

Miller said most of its growth was attributed to customer demand.

“People are currently trying to deal with increasingly complex environments and are looking for a new technology that can give them a form of operational intelligence across all of the silos of their IT environment,” he said. “We’re still retaining the vast majority of the market through the channel and we have a small number of formal partners. We’re working with other partners as well to identify the right markets to work with them on.”

In June Splunk signed its first Premium partner, Remora Technologies. Its distributors include M.Tech and Digital Networks Australia.
