Ericsson partners with HP in bilateral reseller agreement

Partner to bring Wi-Fi and LTE solutions to market

Mobile networking company, Ericsson, has teamed with HP, to bring a set of Wi-Fi and LTE solutions to the market.

The companies have signed a bilateral resale agreement and intend to address opportunities for indoor coverage and mobility for enterprises and operators. The joint venture aims to make use of broadband spectrum and frequency bands.

HP enterprise group executive vice-president and general manager, Antonio Neri, said Ericsson's expertise in building mobile infrastructures with operators worldwide, made for an ideal complement to Aruba Networks' enterprise-wide networking solutions.

Aruba Networks was acquired by HP in May 2015.

“Together we expect to transform the way mobile networks are deployed in order to stay ahead of the pace of mobile requirements,” he said.

As part of the agreement, Ericsson has incorporated Aruba’s 80.2.11ac enterprise Wi-Fi technology into the Ericsson RBS 6402 indoor picocell. The solution aims to integrate with Aruba’s Wi-Fi portfolio, and use the Ericsson radio access network to deliver users connectivity indoors.

Ericsson senior vice-president and head of business unit radio, Arun Bansal, said, “With the addition of Aruba Networks, HP has combined end-to-end enterprise solutions and global reach with innovation and market share.”

It's a powerful combination and a perfect complement to Ericsson's leadership in mobile infrastructure as we evolve to address new operator and enterprise opportunities.”
